Hi,
my name is Vicky Crawford and I'm the person behind Patches! I live in Lovely Leitrim in the Beautiful,North West of Ireland. I run my small business from my little blue cabin in the garden, having progressed from my kitchen table! I live with three of my four children ( one is 23 and has spread her wings) and my Husband David.
I have a passion for anything creative, I play traditional music on the flute and love art and crafts. I've a life long interest in sewing having had generations of serious sewers in my family, you could say its in my blood. I love anything traditional that speaks to me of the past and so am drawn to traditional forms such as teddies and quilts. They for me are ageless have weathered the tests of time and provide great comfort to the owner. I'm also very into something new from something old, re-cycling. Patchwork Quilts were my first connection to the very old tradition of up cycling.
From there I've expanded and love to create things for people that speak to them of those they love. Its such satisfying work and it really gives me a great connection to the people I make for. It also gives me plenty of scope for my creative side and although I'm making bears, quilts, cushions and bunting, each order is completely fresh, new and unique.
I also make all my bears, quilts, cushions and bunting from specially selected fun, fabrics to order. I love when someone orders a gift and chooses a colour scheme a theme, gives me personal details and then lets me run with it! Yay !!! A trip to my favourite place... the fabric shop, heaven ;-)
